The academic year at DHU begins on April 1 and ends on March 31. The academic year is divided into two semesters: Spring and Fall. Each semester lasts approximately fifteen weeks. Courses are counted as two or four credits and a class is 90 minutes. You will need to enroll at least ten credits up to sixteen credits per semester excluding Japanese language courses. You are able to enroll up to two practical courses per semester. It is important to discuss your course choices with your academic adviser at your home institution to ensure that the courses that you take while you study at DHU are approved for credit transfer. No classes can be taken by audit. If you enroll courses such as web, graphic, and programming, you are required to bring your laptop computer to take courses. Computer graphics and film-editing courses are conducted at our computing laboratories.
